A. 1) Make sure you belong to the same workgroup as the other computers. When you
double click Network Neighborhood, you should see all the computers that are in
the same workgroup listed. If your computer is in the wrong workgroup, you may
not see all of the other computers as you were expected to see when you open your
Network Neighborhood. Follow the directions below to correct your workgroup listing.
Go to Start, Setting, Control Panel, Network, and Identification. If your workgroup
name is in the wrong workgroup, correct it. 2) Make sure you have the appropriate
network client and protocols installed and configured correctly for the type of
network you want to connect to. Go to Start, Setting, Control Panel, Network,
and Configuration. 3) Make sure your cable is connected securely to the network
adapter card and to your LAN Port (Hub/Dual Speed Hub/Switch) in your network.
Also confirm that all your cables hardware are complied to the IEEE standard.
4) Your Windows must be configured to logon to the correct domain. Go to Start,
Setting, Control Panel, Network, and Configuration Click Client for Microsoft
Networks, and then click Properties. Verify that the Log on to Windows NT domain
is enabled and the specified domain name is correct.

How do I Install the Driver?
- First remove the old driver and software utility. To do so insert the original
CD and run the Setup over again to successfully remove all components of the software.
-After you have downloaded the new Driver you will need to Unzip the files. You
may use a tool such as WinZip to unzip them. If you do not have Winzip you may

- Extract the files to a local directory. (Use one that you will be able to locate
after the file extracts)
- Find the folder which the files were extracted to and double click the "setup.exe" file.

The HWR54G Wireless-G Router is not initially designed to function as a pure
Wireless Access Point, however setting it up to do so is very simple. Please
follow the instructions below to set it up.

set up page at http://192.168.1.254
From there, click on the navy blue tab on the top called LAN. From there, uncheck DHCP server and put in an IP address and Subnet Mask for the applicable lines.
Typically, your Subnet Mask should be 255.255.255.0 The IP addresss should be on the same network as the original router in your network.

- Set it up first properly with one LAN cable going from the back of the computer
to one of the LAN ports. Then use another LAN cable that runs from the Internet
port of the router to the modem.
-Then use a ball point pen to press and hold the reset button (located in between
the internet port and the antenna) for 30 seconds.
-Then open your web browser to see if it connects. If it doesn't, reboot your
computer and try it again. If that still does not work, please do the following:

Make sure your router has been setup and working within your network.
From there and click on a light blue tab on the top called Advanced.
Scroll down to the very bottom and click on Upgrade Firmware.
From there, leave the wireless router password blank. Right below it, click on
the Browse tab to look for the file that you want to upload. For Example, a typical
firmware file will look like: ip806sm.img. Then click on open once you select
the file. From there, the file name should appear on the Upgrade File line.
From there, click on Start Upgrade. Wait until it finishes.
From there, close the window, and on your router web interface, click on the
navy blue status bar on the upper right corner. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to make sure that the firmware version has changed.

The HWR54G provides users with several levels of security. Depending on which
level of security you wish to set please follow the appropriate instructions below.
WEP is an older security standard than WPA. For the most up to date advanced
security Hawking recommends your network to be set with WPA security.
To enable WEP encryption, please do the following:
Go to the following website:
http://192.168.1.254 Then click on a dark blue tab in the upper right side of the screen that is labeled
Wireless.
Scroll down to Wireless Security and click on the Configure button.
Under the Security System tab, select WEP.
For key size, you may select 64 bit or 128 bit. For 64 bit, you need a 10 digit
key code using numbers and the letters A-F only.
For 128 bit, the same applys All you need to do is type in a code of your choice
under the line Key 1.
Then click on the button on the bottom called Save, which is to the left of the
Cancel button.
To enable WPA-PSK encryption, please do the following:

First
thing you should do is log into the router.
