QUICK INSTALLATION GUIDES

I installed the HWREG1 easily, but now my signal intermittently drops every few days or weeks.
First, be sure you are upgraded to the latest firmware version. You can download the latest firmware from here under the support tab: https://www.hawkingtech.com/index.php/products/wireless/repeaters_&_extenders/hwreg1.html Choose your version and then find the firmware file to download. Save it to your desktop.
To upgrade, log into the extender and go to tools. Click on upgrade firmware and then choose the file you just downloaded. Click apply and follow the onscreen steps. When completed, the firmware should now be upgraded.
If you are already upgraded and you are still having drops, Check the wireless channel in your router. Make sure it’s set to a static channel. Some routers use an AUTO function in which the channel changes itself periodically. If so, our range extender can’t update these changes and that may explain your disconnects.

I see two wireless networks, my original and the HWREG1… I want only one, is this possible?
The HWREG1 can only broadcast a separate wireless name. After you configure it, you will see two networks. Depending on the signal strength and your location, please pick the signal that is the strongest.
